Exclusive message from Drew!

To the faithful ones…

I apologize profusely for not posting anything, in what probably seems like forever….truth be told, it has been. But look on the bright side, I’m rectifying that right now! In an age of twitter and facebook, where people get up to the second info on various goings on, I just haven’t really been able to embrace the whole thing. I’m just not sure that any one person is that interesting, and the real question is, does anyone really care that I’m at the dog park? Or the car wash? Dry cleaners? Beach? The things I am interested in talking about, like music, art, travel, a good book or an amazing meal seem indulgent… so this is me writing to say thanks for standing by me, through everything.

It is roughly one in the morning, and I’m just off the plane back in Charleston, SC, gearing up to have a go at season 4 of AW. I cant believe it has been on for that long. It seems like yesterday when I was here shooting the pilot episode. This season promises to be full of surprises, even for me. I honestly have no idea what’s in store for Trevor in the coming year. It feels odd coming to a place and being around people that are all too familiar but have no idea what direction the ship will head, but that’s part of the fun. I have found that it is in the unknown that I can truly drop all sense of self and just search for honesty.

Five months off was amazing. There were countless trips all around California, from the beaches of La Jolla- to riding motorcycles up Highway One through Carmel into San Francisco, on to Napa and finally ending up in Tahoe. There was Newport, SF, more Newport, Texas, Santa Barbara, Newport and loads of LA. Oh yeah, there was also 6 weeks in Utah shooting an amazing movie called “The Kane Files.” I don’t even know where to begin with this film–it came out of nowhere, I read it twice, talked to the director for all of 45 min and the next thing I know, I am saying yes and am on a plane to SLC to shoot a very intense action /drama in which I’m basically in every scene. There was no time for real rehearsals or any sort of proper stunt training (not the ideal situation by any stretch), but I found myself not wanting to pass up this amazing role and great opportunity to be on a film set again.

In an age where small, great films are harder to get financed and seen by the public, I am a firm believer that one should jump at the opportunity if the right script or role presents itself, regardless of the money, etc. And this was one of the opportunities. My character, Scott Kane is a former black-ops military and hitman, who gets thrown into a situation where his son is in desperate need of a transplant and he has to have money in place in order for it to happen. But in order to secure the money, Scott is blackmailed into taking one final job. Lets just say from there, it becomes a non-stop race against the clock to save his family and himself. It was such a grueling schedule, working mostly nights in the late fall, early winter in and around SLC. But the cast was outstanding. Whitney Able, Ethan Embry, Bill Atherton, Bill Devane, Jackie Jandrell and Pal Rae (:) rounded out the cast. Such an amazing group of talent and inspiration. Honestly I would have fallen apart if it weren’t for them.

So thats a little insight into my world as of late. Never a dull moment and constantly trying to be around people and places that I love and find inspiring.

Why Not? It’s been my inspiration as of late…

Thanks Kelly for posting this great message from Drew. I’m really happy to hear that everything is going great with him.

Kelly thank you for posting it!
Drew,
I wish you a successful season 4 of Army wives. The success of a TV movie depends largely upon a good cast. Without actors like you, who breathe life into characters, a sreenplay would be nothing more than just paper sheets with letters. So keep it up Drew. you are splendid.
Hugs and kisses for you and Kelly, from Pet

Kelly – You know you are the greatest, right? Thanks for posting, both here and on the boards!
Drew – Nice to hear from you, to read that you are doing great. I must admit that I have never seen Army Wives (that’s what I get for living in Belgium), but the new film definitely sounds interesting. I hope to be able to check it out soon. Thanks for the heads up!

HAPPY NEW YEAR and thanks for keeping as posted, Kelly and Drew! It was great to start the year with this message! I can’t wait to see that new movie, I hope it’s easier to get than The circuit or TUG in Spain! And it was cool to see that your favourite films, Drew, were the ones I want to see right now ;) Now I know they must be good. Great that you like LOST! It’s awesome. see you all guys, have a great year, better than 2009 if possible, or the same at least :)

Kelly, Great site! I was looking for a photo and found it so easily on here. Totally impressed with the whole thing!

Drew, Thanks for the note. It’s way cool when “celebrities” keep up with their fans. Really, you may not get it, but Twitter and FB and whatnot are just so the fans can keep up with everything the famous people are doing. Kind of creepy, but kind of cool too.

Again, awesome site. It’s bookmarked!

Hey there Drew… I actually became a fan of yours AFTER I met you on the slc set (I was there one night with the Johnson brothers)… anyway, you were very cool, very funny and super nice (I actually thought you were a crew member at first). It is SO nice to meet actors who are grounded, gracious and talented! Best of luck to you!

Ah! What are the chances that I may have seen Drew here in Utah while he was here?! I was actually at the grocery store, and saw someone who looked EXACTLY like him. I kept thinking there was no way, and why on earth would he be at a grocery store in SLC. Anyway, I was totally staring, gawking more likely and making a fool of myself. Then I came to find out he WAS actually here during that week!! Crazy. Maybe it was..maybe it wasn’t.
