After rehearsal and a tour of the set of “Army Wives” on 4/16/09, Drew sat down with us for an exclusive interview for Drew Fuller Fan.com. Thank you so much Drew for participating! We can’t reiterate how appreciative Drew is of his fans. Here is what we chatted about with him.
What is your current fan mail address?
Drew Fuller
C/O Army Wives
1505 King Street Extension
Charleston, SC 29403
Note: If you would like an autograph, please send a copy of the photo you would like signed, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to make it easier for him to respond. There is no guarantee that Drew will respond as he is very busy with his career.
What is your favorite playlist right now?
I am obsessed with David Bowie and the Hunky Dory album, Kings Of Leon, and Tricky.
What are some of your favorite places to visit?
Anywhere in Europe and Idaho.
What is your current ringtone?
It’s on vibrate 99% of the time, but when it’s not, it’s a jazz piano tone.
Have you done any good with motorcycle racing? Any close calls?
It’s not sanctioned racing. It’s racing against the clock and each other. It’s a lot of joy and about having fun. This is just a passion, not my career. No close calls yet, knock on wood. I just purchased my 6th bike and I’m about to have it shipped.
What are some of your favorite websites?
IMDb.com, Apple Trailers, ESPN.com, Motogp.com, DailyBeast.com (for my news), The Drudge Report, and Tottenham Hotspur site (a soccer club in England).
What are your favorite sports teams?
Tottenham Hotspur, Dodgers for baseball, Lakers for basketball, Ducks hockey, and my football obsession is the Niners.
What are you currently watching on TV?
Lost, Damages, Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Californication, and Mad Men. I never miss an episode of any of these TV shows.
What are your favorite movies seen this year? (With the help of Sterling Brown, his movie buddy.)
“Two Lovers” (was brilliant!).
What is your favorite food?
Indian food. Six months ago, I became a vegetarian. I would eat out 18 of 21 meals a week, and I wasn’t sure what I was eating, so I became a vegetarian. I feel healthy and have a lot of energy. Until I know what I’m putting in my body, I’m going to try to eat as much organic as possible. I’m in the best shape of my life and have never felt better.
What is your favorite thing about Charleston?
The food!
What do you like to do on your days off from taping “Army Wives”?
Watching movies, yoga, golf, basketball, and surfing.
What is your relationship really like with Sally Pressman [Roxy]?
We have a brother/sister relationship. She’s one of my favorite people and a close friend.
Take us through a typical day on the set of “Army Wives”.
I get up early in the morning, and about 15 minutes before call time, I spend 5 minutes in makeup and 5 minutes in hair. Then at 6 AM, I have a breakfast sandwich with egg whites and veggie sausage. We then go to marks, where they place us where we need to be during the scene. We then tape our scenes (called repeat and rewind), we take lunch for 30-45 minutes, and then go back to repeat and rewind. I then go home and take a second shower to wash off the day. If it’s an easy day, I will go play basketball. If it’s a hard day, I will probably just watch TV or have people over. I love to cook.
Would you be willing to do “The Ultimate Life” if it were turned into a movie?
No, because “The Ultimate Gift” summed it all up. To make “The Ultimate Life” would be redundant and there would be nowhere to go.
What happened to The Chad (your cat) and Pink (your bird)?
There never was The Chad, it was an inside joke with a publicist. She posted it on a site and it spread like wildfire. Pink only lasted 1 week.
Do you plan on making an official MySpace, FaceBook, or official website?
I have no official page or website on the internet, nor do I have plans to have one in the near future. If I find a cause I am totally into, I will redirect DrewFuller.com to that website.
Do you plan to make more movies once “Army Wives” is done?
Absolutely, as many and as often as possible.
Before leaving, Drew took us outside for some photo opportunities, one of which was him playing with Tennessee, his beagle mix dog that he rescued last year. Drew would like to thank everyone for their continued support throughout his career.
